Based in Australia, Italian-Australian Cristina Russo has established an international career spanning opera, theatre, concert, and film.
Known primarily for her talents as a soprano, Cristina has performed and covered several roles for Victorian Opera and State Opera of South Australia. Equally at home in baroque concert and oratorio repertoire, Cristina is a frequent collaborator with early music ensemble La Compañia, and has appeared as a soloist in a number of well known concert and oratorio works.
Cristina is fast establishing herself as a name in the world of film composition. Working regularly in partnership with film composer Johnny Klimek, Cristina co-wrote and sang vocals for Chinese feature film Lord of Shanghai with the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Kristjan Järvi which won Best Song at the 2016 Macau International Film Festival Awards. She has also assisted with the writing and vocals for upcoming German television series Babylon Berlin (directed by Tom Tykwer).
Cristina has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, from Hamer Hall (Melbourne, AUS) and the world-renowned Museum of Modern Art (Hobart, AUS) to the Macau Film Festival (Macau, CHI).
